KERANISS SP. Z O.O.

In July 1993 Keraniss sp. z o.o. was set up in Warsaw by the Nissenbaum Family Foundation, which was created and founded by Sigmund Nissenbaum. Since 1985 the Foundation has been involved in preserving Jewish heritage in Poland. The activity of Keraniss supports the statutory activities of the Foundation.

Keraniss runs two shops at F. Chopin Airport in Warsaw: the Classic Shop at Terminal A in the Non-Schengen Area, opened in April 2009 and a shop with toys in the Non Schengen Zone, Terminal A, opened in June 2010. In 2005 and 2008 Keraniss opened two shops at the airport Katowice in Pyrzowice and in March 2008 a shop in the duty-free area at Władysław Reymont Airport in Łódź. In November 2010 Keraniss opened a shop at the airport in Krakow-Balice. What distinguishes these shops from other shops is their elegant interior which creates a unique atmosphere of luxury. They were primarily designed with the customer's convenience in mind: the layout of the shop, accessibility of the goods and the way of displaying them make shopping here a truly enjoyable experience for everyone. The goods offered by Keraniss mainly include alcohol products from well-known foreign and Polish manufacturers, as well as tobacco products - cigarettes, cigarillos and cigars made in the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Cuba. Since 2009 some of the Keraniss shops have also been selling cosmetics.

Apart from the products of reputable foreign companies - famous brands of alcohol, caviar and tobacco products, Keraniss also offers the products of well-known Polish manufacturers, for example, Blikle, Wedel, Kopernik, Morliny, Sokołów Podlaski, Nisskosher, Wyborowa S.A., Luksusowa S.A. or the Sobieski Group. Keraniss pays special attention to promotional actions and tasting of products, which it organises in cooperation with particular producers. This makes Keraniss shops very popular with foreign customers, who eagerly buy traditional "delicacies from Poland". Confectionery products, mushrooms, cold meat cuts, game, fish products, fruit and vegetable preserves, kosher products and various fruit tea blends - these are but a few of the products on offer.

The wide assortment of goods in the Keraniss shops encompasses many top-quality regional products. This is possible due to cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Regional and Local Products. The Chamber implements a strategy for building a system of promoting regional and local products, in the same way as this is done in other EU countries. Keraniss is actively involved in this project, trying to support domestic production by displaying and promoting Polish goods. This peculiar export carried out via the Keraniss shops located at airports gives lesser known local manufacturers a chance to enter European markets and to prove that also their products are of very high quality.

The personnel of the shops regularly participate in a series of training sessions entitled "Effective Shop Assistant". The Keraniss employees are carefully recruited and they all have a good command of foreign languages, a very good knowledge of the products offered as well as the skills to recommend a product that will meet the customer's needs.
